The National Camp Oven Festival was held just prior to the Forbes Rally and resulted in all powered sites being booked for the first time. The new Camp Oven Shed was christened and came through with flying colours. It made the ideal venue for billy boiling and a number of camp oven cook off competitions. Then it doubled for the bush poets’ breakfast and other entertainers, all of whom want to come back, they had such a great time.
At the time of writing, we are heading back from the Forbes Rally, where there was nothing but praise from those who visited our Village stand or attended the Village update talk. What amazes so many people is the continual growth being experienced in the housing and entertainment sectors.
We are now awaiting our consultant’s drawings for Stage 4 housing and anticipate the start of roadworks and other infrastructure in the New Year. This stage will link into our waste water treatment plant. We do have a waiting list for Stage 4 houses and all those who have their names down as an expression of interest will be notified as soon as the plans are available. No blocks have been allocated to any individual at this time – everyone will receive the same opportunity.
There are still some Stage 2 cottage sites available. Our cottages are of similar quality to the houses but are designed as smaller units at a lower price. If you would like a cottage information pack, please phone the office on 02 6662 1069 or email housing@casinovillage.com.au with your mailing address.
The Directors are now working on the next five year Strategic Plan, which will include the development of the waste water plant, stages 4, 5 and 6 of the housing precinct, Stages 3, 4 and 5 of the cottages , the strata titled homes, Industrial precinct, and all the associated infrastructure.
Provision is also being made for the current gravel roads in Magnolia Way, Tea Tree Drive and Tea Tree Lane to be suitably drained and concreted as we have created in all other areas. Mini Rally area will also be marked for sullage installation and once again our storm water friendly concrete roads. Of course, all these items have to be prioritised.
Within the Strategic Plan allowance is provided for increased expenditure as more houses and cottages come on lin. As residences swell in numbers, we will need to augment our facilities and, of course, maintaining lawns and landscaping more houses will require additional staff. Affordable housing will continue to be a critical part of our growth for those who enjoy the RV lifestyle as well as the leisure activities infrastructure central to enabling residents to interact as a community.
In the future we will be creating around 100 drive-through sites behind the Village Green plus a number of allocated sites. Five additional tourist overnight cabins should come on line later this year, such has been the demand for this style of accommodation. The Directors will continue to monitor the demand for short term stop overs, as it also provides the ideal place for guests to stay at the Village whilst visiting residents and/or friends.
Major and minor events boost our tourist based revenue and showcase the Village for potential home owners. We will continue to give you numerous options during 2008 to come and enjoy the camaraderie and ambience always on offer.
The efforts of all at the Village have resulted in 2007 maintaining our growth pattern and the Directors see no reason why 2008 will not see an escalation of this situation.
In conclusion, we wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas, a safe New Year and look forward to making you welcome when you next come our way.
